After School Program

2024-25 After School Program & Tutoring

Location: YMCA
Grades: TK-6th
Days/Time: Monday - Friday on school days, after school - 5:30pm
Deadline: Payment is due one week prior to the week of attendance.

After School Program

Our After School program meets Monday - Friday at the Le Mars YMCA/Gehlen Elementary on school days from after school is dismissed to 5:30pm. Kids will receive a healthy snack and participate in supervised activities that keep them active and productive after the school day ends. Some days they even get to swim! Kids can walk to the after school program or get dropped off by the Le Mars School Bus Route, the bus arrives at the YMCA's front entrance at 3:45pm. Children attending the Gehlen After School program can go into their library after the school day ends.

Our After School program provides affordable child care for working parents. Financial assistance is also available for qualifying familes. You can download a financial assistance application from our website or pick one up at the YMCA front desk. Kids in grades TK-6th can register for our After School program.

All applications, forms & payments will now be done through PlayGround, thanks to a grant from Iowa DHHS, that specializes in state licensed programs.

Additional funds have been made available to the Le Mars YMCA to offer program scholarships to ANY out of school care program: ONLY for the 2024-2025 school year.

Y Tutoring (2024-25 School Year)

Does your child need a little boost to continue to succeed in school? Let the Y help! We offer a comprehensive tutoring program to meet your child’s every need. Our tutor, Dani Den Ouden, is qualified to tutor grades K-12. She is secondary certified (grades 5-12) in Math and Spanish. Dani is also certified in English as a second language (ESL) for grades K-12. Contact Dani at 546.6655 for details and to schedule tutoring.
